The Top Ten Positive-Thinking Songs of All Time

I know "the power of positive thinking" is a bit of a cliche. But the truth is that it works. Thinking positively is the quickest way to turn a crappy day into a bright and sunny one. Sure, there's some value in seeing how nasty and brutish life (and people) can be; a realistic perspective on life will save you from the errors of naivete. But there's a difference between realism and pessimism. We need to be aware that life isn't always roses, but we shouldn't dwell on it. That's just no way to live. Besides: however much ugliness the world may be capable of, it's also capable of tremendous beauty. So next time you're running on half-empty, put away the emo and the death metal for a few hours, and give a few of these songs a whirl.

An Optimist's Top Ten:

1) Life is Wonderful by Jason Mraz
2) Beautiful Day by U2
3) Beautiful Life by Ace of Base
4) Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
5) It's My Life by Bon Jovi
6) Beautiful by Christina Aguilera
7) Live Out Loud by Stephen Curtis Chapman
8) What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
9) Alive by POD
10) All You Got by Michael Tait

You're giving me ideas for a post on my own blog (but I'll acknowledge that). Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" is definitely one of my all time favs.
